  • Biographical info: I am a postdoctoral researcher within the Cleaner Production Promotion Unit, a research group of the Environmental Research Institute and the School of Engineering and Architecture at University College Cork. My background is in development studies. I hold a MA in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex. My PhD research in the Centre of Development Studies at the University of Cambridge explores the factors affecting whether and how communities accept wind energy developments in Southern Mexico. It does so by drawing together three lenses: the energy justice framework, the capability approach, and power analysis. These lenses help examine how shifting actions and power relations maintain or transform conflicts around RETs in developing contexts. My current work focuses on education and public engagement in environmental decision-making, particularly renewable energy, along with wider sustainability, energy justice, and community participation issues.
