'Caracterización de las Condiciones de Vida de los Niños, Niñas y Adolescentes del Gran Buenos Aires a partir del Índice de Precariedad Habitacional, 2011-2012' Paper presented at the annual conference of the HDCA, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2018.

This paper discusses how intra-urban inequalities affect the quality of life of children and adolescents and, consequently, impedes the full realization of their rights. The authors based their analysis on the results of a MICS-UNICEF household survey conducted in Argentina between 2011 and 2012 in order to develop an index related to intra-urban inequality. Results of the index yield important information about how the variables link education, health and social protection at different points of the life cycle with the rights of children. The indicator functions as a marker of urban life as a proxy for the territorial distribution of childhood inequalities. The information is presented through child rights related variables in Greater Buenos Aires. In the context of the global agenda for development, the authors believe that the inequities identified can serve as a significant input for urban policy design that promotes children's and adolescents' quality of life.
