  • Biographical info: Raphael Ng’s research interest in economic and business ethics is centered on social impact, business and human rights, environmental social and governance (ESG) issues, and stakeholder theory. His present research explores how we can apply the Capabilities Approach to profit-oriented corporations, particularly to shift beyond the singular focus on profits towards a set of social and sustainable impacts. He is completing his doctoral research on economic and business ethics at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Germany. Prior to his doctoral research, he studied philosophy in Canada (BA) and in the United States (MA).

Acerca de Raphael Ng

Raphael's research interest in economic and business ethics is centered on social impact, business and human rights, environmental social and governance (ESG) issues, and stakeholder theory. His present research explores the conceptual boundaries of applying the Capabilities Approach onto profit-oriented corporations, particularly in shifting beyond the singular focus on profits towards a set of social and sustainable impacts. He is keen on developing and collaborating on research and projects that bridge the conventional CA disciplinary areas with management and organizational studies. He is completing his doctoral research on economic and business ethics at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Germany and his research is part of a partnership between two ethics centers: the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics (WCGE) that focuses on responsible corporate leadership and the Weltethos Institut at the University of Tübingen (WEIT) that works on humanistic management. Prior to his doctoral research, he studied philosophy in Canada (BA) and in the United States (MA).
