  • Biographical info: I am working as an ECD Specialist at the Center for Injury Prevention, and Research Bangladesh, and worked previously as a Research Assistant at Kingston University. I graduated from Dhaka University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Social Relationship and attended Roehampton University, which persuaded her to post-graduation in Education. Before leaving my 4 years voluntary position as a volunteer coordinator at Whale of a Time, I completed an MA in Global Governance and Public Policy at Middlesex University. I returned to her birthplace, Bangladesh and worked on different educational projects for over 10 years in the fields of research, project management, curriculum development, proposal writing, training, and teaching. My research interest includes Early childhood development and learning, disability, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Childhood Safety.

About Rehana Parveen

I, Rehana Parveen, am currently working as an ECD Specialist at the Center for Injury Prevention, and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB), and worked previously as a Research Assistant at Kingston University. My role as an ECD specialist is to ensure 500 community ECD centres’ quality for a comprehensive drowning reduction project called Bhasa in southern Bangladesh. My main roles are to provide technical support to the team of 5 ECD technical officers to develop 1400 caregivers’ ECD caregiving skills regularly. Other responsibilities covered planning and designing activities, developing training contents and guidelines, organizing and conducting capacity development Training of Trainers (TOT), preparing reports, coordinating with other ECD stakeholders, planning and delivering regular ECD activities, designing ECD monitoring and evaluating tools, and conducted different ECD impact research for improving the quality of ECD intervention’s service delivery. I graduated from Dhaka University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Social Relationship. Rehana attended Roehampton University, persuaded her post-graduation in Education and worked for 6 months as a lecturer at the London College of Excellence. Before leaving my 4 years voluntary position as a volunteer coordinator at Whale of a Time, Rehana completed an MA in Global Governance and Public Policy at Middlesex University. Rehana has returned to her birthplace, Bangladesh and worked on different educational projects. I have worked on different educational projects for over 10 years in the fields of research, project management, curriculum development, proposal writing, training, and teaching. My research interest includes Education Attainment, Early Childhood development and learning, Intervention Research, Impact Evaluation, Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Child Safety.
