About Nitin Bisht
Dr. Nitin Bisht is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dehradun Institute of Technology, Dehradun. He has completed his Ph.D. in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee. The topic of his Ph.D. was Status of Youth in Indian labour Market: Trends and Determinants. He had publications from his Ph.D. and other collaborations in SCOPUS-indexed international journals. He has also been able to present his work at fully-funded international conferences in India and abroad. Dr. Bisht considers himself an interdisciplinary scholar with an educational background in Economics, Social Work and Management. His areas of expertise include Labour Economics, Development Economics, Human Development, Rural Development, Political Economy of Youth and Youth Development. Besides educational diversity, Dr, Bisht has seven plus years of working experience with some international development sector organizations like Plan International, USAID, World Bank and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare-Uttarakhand. As a researcher, Dr. Bisht is also contributing as an editorial board member and reviewer of a few internationally reputed journals. In addition, to promote research, he is a lifetime member of professional bodies and societies working in labour and development economics.
