  • Biographical info: Hiroaki Matsuura is Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Health Economics and Demography at Shoin University in Japan. He specializes in the role of human rights in the allocation of health and environmental resources. He has been a member of the World Health Organization's Technical Advisory Group on Economics of Environment, Climate Change and Health, the Technical Advisory Group on Embedding Ethics in Health and Climate Change Policy, and the World Tourism Organization's World Committee on Tourism Ethics. Prior to joining Shoin University, he was Departmental Lecturer in the Economy of Japan at the University of Oxford. He holds a Sc.D. in Global Health and Population from Harvard University.
