About Fenella Somerville
Fenella is currently a post-doctoral research fellow in the SARChI Chair Higher Education and Human Development (HEHD) programme at the University of the Free State. She holds a Master’s in Education (cum laude) and PhD in Development Studies. She has extensive experience as an educator and practitioner in a range of educational contexts and levels in South Africa. Her research interests lie in inclusive education, human development and social justice, and particularly the contribution of private higher education in the context of Africa. Her current work focuses on graduate employability and social mobility, and she is also involved in a team project on sustainability and the university in South Africa.
