About Arunima Mukherjee

I am interested in the shaping, emerging, and changing practices, processes, and discourses related to information and communication technologies (ICTs) in social transformation with a strong development focus. My research explores the broader research question of ‘are we making a better world with ICTs?’. I am trying to explore this notion of ‘better’ inspired by the capability approach for building a multidisciplinary understanding of trust, social inclusion, and equity within different empirical domains of public health, peace studies, and food security. Empirically my research is primarily based in South Asia – India, Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar.
