“Happiness Explained” published by Oxford University Press

Colleagues are warmly invited to check out Happiness Explained by Professor Paul Anand, an HDCA fellow and director of the capabilities measurement project. This accessible, non-technical book suitable for lay readers as well as as students and academics provides a novel overview of some of the operationalisation work Paul has conducted with colleagues in Oxford, LSE and elsewhere. In addition the greater part of the book is given over to situating the capability approach at the very centre of multi-disciplinary and global interest in moving beyond GDP to develop better and more direct measures of human flourishing. Professor Amartya Sen has described this as ‘…a brilliant book…'
