Sustainable and Resilient Societies Summer School in Rome

We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for the second edition of the Sustainable and Resilient Societies Summer School, an interdisciplinary one-week programme taking place June 23-28, 2025, at the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome (KNIR).
The programme brings together experts from sociology, demography, economics, history, psychology, and organization science to explore polycrises - multiple, interconnected crises that interact and amplify one another. Participants will engage with an overarching analytical framework that moves beyond disciplinary silos and single-cause explanations, equipping them with innovative tools for tackling real-world crises.

By the end of the SuRe Summer School, you will have a solid grasp of social mechanism reasoning and the CMO-based Realist Evaluation - essential frameworks in evidence based policymaking.
