We are pleased to announce the publication of the book "Sustainability and Capability Approach" by Giuditta Alessandrini, published by Franco Angeli (Milan) in the "Pedagogy of Labour" series.
The volume proposes a dialectical comparison between the capability approach and the theme of sustainability and builds on a seminar promoted by the Research Network "Educational and Training Dimensions of the Capability Approach", which consists of several Universities and the Doctoral School of Educational and Social Theory and Research (Roma Tre), formerly coordinated by the curator.
The philosophy of sustainability encompasses three interrelated dimensions: human development, social justice and care for the environment. In the 2030 Agenda, among the 17 goals, and in addition to the fight for climate change, there is a high expectation for an extraordinary investment effort in education.
The work, to which 26 Authors contributed, constitutes a mandatory point of reference for all those scholars who have confronted themselves in recent years on the thought of Martha C. Nussbaum and Amartya Sen, and who are interested in the promotion of sustainability in education and training.
The volume contains contributions by F. Abbate, G. Aleandri, G. Alessndrini, F. Bocci, B. Briceag, S. Colazzo, M. Costa, F. d’Aniello, D. Dato, P. Di Rienzo, P. Ellerani, M. Fiorucci, A.
