September marks the 10th anniversary of the official launch of the Human Development and Capability Association, in Pavia, Italy in 2004.

Members of the association's first Executive Council were: Amartya Sen, Martha Nussbaum, Enrica Chiappero-Martinetti, Anantha Duraiappah, Sabina Alkire, Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, Mozaffar Qizilbash, Kevin Watkins, Siddiqur Osmani, Jean-Luc Dubois, Arun Abraham, Ingrid Robeyns, Flavio Comim, Reiko Gotoh, and David Crocker.
