
Regional Webinar Series – Towards a School of Global South Thought on Displacement

We are pleased to announce a three-day online regional webinar series focused on progress and barriers in the generation of knowledge on forced displacement in the Global South. This initiative is a joint effort by:
- Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia)
- University of Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania)
- Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand)
- Center on Gender and Forced Displacement (India)
- University of Guadalajara (Mexico)
The ultimate goal of this webinar series is to develop a “Global South School of Thought” on human displacement, ensuring that scholars from the Global South have a stronger voice in global displacement discussions.
Workshop Objectives
This webinar series aims to:
- Explore theories relevant to displacement in the Global South
- Examine methodologies used in studying displacement in these regions
- Highlight regional contributions to displacement studies in Africa, South Asia, and Latin America
- Contribute to displacement policies by incorporating unique perspectives from these regions
