HDCA Graduate workshop 3: Writing for policy makers
June 9 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm UTC+0
Wednesday 9th June 2021, 12-1.30pm UTC (1-2.30pm BST)
In this workshop for graduate students working with the capability approach or human development, Graciela Tonon (Universidad de Palermo and Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora, Argentina), will make a presentation and lead discussion on writing for policy makers. Researchers and policy makers experience different situations in their daily work life and writing is one of the key actions to improve their relationship. Graciela will share reflections from her forthcoming new book Key Actors in Public Policy-making for Quality of Life: Facilitators and Obstacles (Springer – to be published later in 2021).
This workshop is aimed primarily at graduate students so please sign up if you are a graduate working with the capability approach (this event is open to graduate HDCA members and non-members.) If places remain a few days before we will offer to others in addition. The registration link is here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/hdca-graduate-workshop-3-writing-for-policy-makers-tickets-154742762769
Please note there is a separate workshop series for undergraduate students (the next one is on the 14th July).
Please check the timing for your own timezone to check whether you will be available as for some individuals this is likely to be very early in the morning or later at night. We suggest you join 5 mins ahead of the start time to allow for connection and technical checks. The zoom link will be shared with everyone registered for the workshop.
The HDCA strives to offer high quality free events to members and non-members worldwide and for many this is the only opportunity to engage with others on the capability approach. So, we ask you kindly:
- Please do check that you are available before signing up for the workshop.
- Please do cancel your place if you find you are no longer able to attend.
This will enable more individuals who would like to join us to be able to do so. We have found that sometimes individuals sign up but don’t show up. This is disappointing for those who have not been able to secure a place.
We look forward to welcoming you and learning together.
