Darius Meier will present on the meaning of work and Nussbaum’s ten central capabilities, drawing from his book The Future of Work: Ethical Evaluation of the Change of Human Labor in the Context of Advancing Automation.

Questions he will address include:

• What is the role of work as a societal pillar and for enabling a dignified human life?
• What are new definitions of work? How can work enable capabilities in today’s world?
• How can we shift away from the current working model (8h/day) which is based on the last industrial revolution?
• How can we adjust the 10 central capabilities to the needs of the age of AI and automation of work?
