This thematic group encourages membership from ALL disciplines and practitioners involved in the complex issues relating to sustainability and human development. The group's interests include conceptual issues, transdisciplinarity, measurement, policy and practice.
PB Anand is a Reader in Environmental Economics and Public Policy at the University of Bradford and is a specialist in international development with particular focus on the interface between sustainability and economic development challenges of cities. He has written many papers published by the UNU WIDER (2001, 2006 and 2013) and a single authored book (2007) on issues related to access to water.
Ana Estefanía Carballo
University of Melbourne
Ana Estefanía Carballo is a sessional lecturer at the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on Latin American development thinking, the interplay between indigenous epistemologies, human and environmental development ethics and social movements and environmental conflicts in Latin America. She has worked in policy research with civil society organisations in Europe and Latin America.

Jérôme Pelenc is currently post-doctoral fellow of the Fund for Scientific Research (FRS-FNRS) at the IGEAT-CEDD of the Free University of Brussels (ULB). His post-doctoral research at the theoritical level tries to integrate Ecology, Economics and Human Development in order to build a suitable theoretical framework for thinking and assessing transitions toward sustainability.
