The HDCA is organizing an online abstract writing workshop in preparation for the 2023 conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, to widen access to the conference for voices from early career researchers. The workshop is open to the ECRs (PhD students and those who have completed their PhD within the last five years) who want to sharpen their abstract writing skills and are planning to attend the HDCA 2023 conference. The workshop will engage with the role the abstract is expected to fill, what the HDCA expects in particular, discuss the components abstracts. This practical workshop will take participants through the abstract writing and evaluation process to help them better understand the purpose and structure of this form of writing. Topics addressed will include:

Components of abstracts

Outline of the steps in writing an abstract

How to construct these into a coherent abstract

Attendees should bring the abstract they intend to submit to the HDCA 2023 conference to work on. This will help us to help you to shape your individual submission and/or help you target it to the conference theme at the workshop.
