Acerca de Paolo Parra Saiani
I’m Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Genoa, Director of the Curriculum in Political Sciences, PhD in Social Sciences and President of Master's Degree in Administration and Public Policies.
My main research interests are divided between methodological and substantive aspects. As a research methodologist I have always been interested in "broad spectrum" social indicators: not only the most obvious ones (poverty, well-being, quality of life) but also in aspects that are often a little more neglected (trust, corruption, environment). As a sociologist I’m broadly interested in the social and political factors that shape the global flows of knowledge, as well as the social and political ramifications of the globalization of science. In addition to being a member of the HDCA, I am a member of various associations, including the American Sociological Association, the European Sociological Association (in this case, I’m in the Executive Board of RN24, Science and Technology), the Red Latinoamericana de Metodología de las Ciencias Sociales.
