About Carolina Rivera

Carolina Rivera is an economist, she has been working for the Human Development Report Office at UNDP since 2018. She works on a policy-oriented research on gender inequality and human development, as well as in the calculation and analysis of the Multidimensional Poverty Index for all countries. Before joining HDRO she worked as a Public Policy Specialist for UNDP Mexico’s Country Office since 2016 where she worked on analysis and mapping of indicators and public policies on human development, poverty and governance at the local level. Carolina holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley and she has more than 9 years of experience in policy advice, strategy design and project management to create accurate, valuable and relevant information for the decision-making process. She has also worked for the Organization of American States and the Central Bank of Mexico, and as a consultant for different international development organizations including the Center for Effective Global Action and the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health.
